Sage professors Beau Comeaux, Sean Hovendick and Jean Dahlgren spoke at the first Student Portfolio Workshop held by the Upstate NY Chapter of AIGA in early February. Organized by Doug Bartow of id 29, the workshop featured a distinguished panel of speakers to a crowd of 80+ students from area colleges and universities. Professor Comeaux shared some excellent tips about photographing work for your portfolio, while GMD Program Coordinator Sean Hovendick expressed his opinion on artists’ websites (see image above). Professor Dahlgren shared the Do’s, Don’ts and Don’t Evers of writing and designing résumés. Other speakers included Sage alumna Ally VanHouten from event sponsor Mohawk Paper and many others. The event took place at the Foundry for Art, Design + Culture in Cohoes, NY.
